Sited on a narrow infill lot in one of North County’s oldest neighborhoods, this affordable 16-unit townhome project offers dignified rental housing for families of modest means. Eleventh Avenue Townhomes represents the first new-construction development for the client, a community-based nonprofit social service agency. In this project, Studio E Architects was asked to develop a simultaneously site-specific and prototypical scheme that could be used on this and other parcels. With this in consideration, our design makes overt references to its immediate locale while providing a clearly reproducible strategy for future use.
