Congratulations are in order!

John Sheehan

Join us in congratulating our staff member Marcela Gracia! Her amazing graphite sketches are currently on exhibit at the Tubac Center of the Arts – near Tucson (linked here – http://tubacarts.org/) . The show called Arizona del Sur/Norte de Mexico features outstanding artists in southern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. Marcela was born in Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture at the University of Arizona –  making her doubly qualified for inclusion in this exhibition. The pieces are 22 x 28 inches in size – they’re big! They are part of an ongoing observation of our hands as our everyday tools, an ode of gratitude to our own bodies. They’re all drawn from photographic studies meant to amplify, literally and figuratively, the intricacies that we take for granted. One of the works exhibited, Mano No.2, won the Award of Merit.

If you can’t make it to Tucson – Marcela will have a piece in the Fine Arts exhibit at the soon opening San Diego County Fair. Look for her work titled Mano No.4.
