Mixed-Use - Mission Road Revitalization, designed by Studio E Architects

MISSION ROAD REVITALIZATION

Located in San Marcos' oldest neighborhood, the project introduces a mixed-use pattern in an effort to jumpstart a new urban village. This new pedestrian-oriented village satisfies three important goals. First, density is added along an expanding transit line. Second, a blighted and neglected neighborhood business corridor is revitalized into a neighborhood-serving destination. Third, much needed affordable family housing is made available.
The design is organized around a crossroads of pedestrian activity, including an east-west running paseo that is activated by retail spaces on the south and walk-up residential to the north.
