Six themes derived from this unique seven acre downtown site describe the Ballpark Village Master Plan: City: Intimate spaces contrast with grand civic places making connections to San Diego's history with a vision for its future. Recalling the unique qualities of Balboa Park, the plan engages nature and provides sunny open spaces and shady transitions between indoors and out.Boulevard: Park Boulevard connects Park and Bay as a civic-scaled trellised garden arcade, a unique symbol of Ballpark Village, provides a gesture of welcome and gathering. Garden: Ballpark Village realizes San Diego as the Garden Paradise City, with garden terraces that provide tranquil roof deck forests, shaded fountains, and ideal settings for varied activities. Sky: An arc of distinctive towers-whose balconies and roof decks invite visitors up to incomparable Park, Bay and Terrace views Bay: Pools, fountains and waterfalls stir the senses and create unique passages and settings. At full build-out, the total development will consist of 1,107 residential units, 270 hotel rooms, 290,000 GSF of commercial lease space, and 2,855 parking spaces.
