Coronado Senior Apartment Housing is intended to serve low-income seniors in a 30 unit, two and three story, residential building. Primarily wood framed, extra thick framing, particularly at openings, stucco, tile, clay tiled viga awnings and exposed wood framed overhangs reinforce a modern day Irving Gill design intent. Residents will be within walking distance of the services, activities and amenities necessary to maintain an independent lifestyle.
Adjacent to the project’s office, an interior common space will provide a sheltered area with kitchen facilities, a large open space and views onto Orange Avenue and into the courtyard for residents to gather and activities to take place. In addition to the courtyard, private porches and balconies and a common terrace provide outdoor gathering spaces to take advantage of Coronado’s beautiful climate and provide places of community for the residents.
Compact units will provide simplified living quarters while incorporating amenities such as in unit washer and dryers, dishwashers, ceiling fans, upgraded finishes and lighting and provide ADA adaptability.
