MID-CITY TRANSIT GATEWAYS

Studio E's design for this transit-oriented center on the University Avenue bridge over the Route 15 freeway in City Heights will accommodate future redevelopment and mass transit at freeway level below. Architectural forms- encouraging connection from the plaza to transit platforms below- integrate transit shelters, solar energy generation, information panels and interactive wayfinding, retail spaces, storage, and changeable public art.
The Gateway creates a unifying space that celebrates the community's cultural diversity and optimism while providing a dynamic visual destination.
