The Imperial Beach Pier Plaza & Safety Center is a civic mixed-use project commissioned by the San Diego Unified Port District and the City of Imperial Beach. Additions and enhancements to the existing Pier Plaza include a comfort station, retail spaces, a public performance stage, improved beach access, a protective concrete sea wall, picnic areas, and public art. These carefully sited new amenities defer to the simple power of the expansive oceanfront setting.
