Fresno is California's market town - the center of the world's richest agricultural region. The Central California History Museum tells the story of this place. The museum is a great market stall - offering shade, inviting inspection, providing sustenance. Formally, the design is developed as a series of thresholds that mitigate between the Central Valley extremes of indoors and out - offering increasing protection while deepening the visitors' engagement with the collection.
